My classes are trauma-informed, vinyasa in style, and conscientious of sensory needs. My aim is providing an imaginative, nurturing and inclusive environment where we will work hard, but also be kind to ourselves as we do so.
I can teach the poses, the flexibility, the strength, and the softening of painful, tender areas; oh yes. But I’ll also invite you to explore your own path of self-discovery in a safe and loving space.
Wednesday evening slow flow will be reminiscent of a vinyasa class, but at a slower pace. This offers time to explore alignment, variations, and different expressions of familiar poses, and offers a challenge to the student in remaining present through longer holds. Modifications for all levels will be given, beginners welcome!
My classes focus on alignment and functional movement, ensuring we're using our bodies optimally and moving with intention. I aim to help people develop a trusting relationship with their body, building a sense of safety, confidence and wonder within our selves (and probably sharing a laugh or two along the way).
My yoga classes are alignment based and breath-focused but most of all, I want you to make it “your yoga”. Essentially a moving meditation, I am there to help assist you through your practice of asana and with gentle subtlety guide you back to the present moment.
In my all levels Vinyasa Flow class, I hope to offer a break from your routine that leaves you feeling stronger, renewed, accepted, and looking forward to your next yoga practice. Although a slightly more intense style of practice, it is still a great place to start if you're just exploring yoga and the many different styles.
My sessions are Hatha-based, practicing poses (asana), breath (pranayama), and meditation to explore the subtle aspects of our being. Strength, flexibility, balance, and breath: these are the elements and objectives of the practice.
In this Yin Yoga class you will be guided through a breathing and centering practice to start class. Then a series of asanas, yoga poses will be held for longer periods of time to help you get a deep stretch in the body. Poses will all be all done on the floor. Props will be offered to help you feel more supported in the pose as well as modifications so that the poses feel good in your body. Class ends with a deeply guided relaxation throughout the entire body. All levels are welcome and no previous yoga experience is needed.
An energetic flow of movement, flexibility and strength using the breath to connect the mind and body and to transition between poses. This is your practice and is intended for all experience levels. The goal is for your experience to energize you and give you a great workout while also allowing you to leave feeling relaxed and grounded.
